In Filipino culture, this question isn’t really about breakfast—it’s our way of saying I care about you. Food is how we greet the day, welcome people in, and gather around the small, ordinary moments that quietly become the most meaningful.
This painting is my ode to that ritual.✨
Breakfast is where my day begins: coffee ☕️ in hand, a table filled with little comforts, and a moment to pause before the world rushes in. It’s the fuel that jumpstarts everything I love doing—painting included. For some Filipinos, the day doesn’t truly begin until someone asks, “Nagalmusal ka na ba?”
Here, food sits at the center of the scene the way it often sits at the center of our lives—connecting people, stories, and cultures around the table.
I’m especially excited that this piece will soon be traveling with me to Lisbon, where I’ll be sharing a little slice of Filipino warmth, hospitality, and breakfast culture through my art.
Because wherever we are in the world, a good day still starts the same way:
with food, care, and a seat at the table. ☕🍞🎨
